40th annual Terry Fox (virtual) Run to support cancer research
Millions of inspired Canadians have paid homage to the Marathon of Hope every year by getting active and donating money to the Terry Fox Foundation in the hope of finding a cure for cancer. Approaching Gatineau’s 40th annual Terry Fox Run, the event’s long-time organizer Bob McRae is hoping the community will come out in droves to participate.
Scheduled to take place on September 20, the run will be held virtually due to COVID-19. People are invited to walk, run, bike, rollerblade and wheelchair wherever they please while social distancing. Since its inception, the Terry Fox Foundation has contributed nearly one billion dollars to cancer research and this year’s Gatineau event has already raised more than $4,000, McRae said.
People are invited to register for the run online, individually, with a team or with a family, as well as to make a donation.
