Aylmer Voyageurs bring world hockey trophy home to Aylmer
Aylmer’s recently formed old-timers hockey club, the Aylmer Voyageurs, won a world tournament. The team travelled to Santa Rosa, California, July 17 to compete in Snoopy's Senior World Hockey Tournament, which is a major amateur senior ice hockey tournament held every summer in Santa Rosa.
The tournament was founded 42 years ago by Peanuts cartoonist, Charles Schultz, the creator of Charlie Brown. “We were fortunate to win our division in the 55+ category with a bunch of good old boys from Aylmer,” said Bill McCrank of the team.
