Aylmer vs. Aylmer in provincial hockey tournament finals

Two Pee-wee B Aylmer teams ended up playing against each other in the finals of the provincial tournament, held on December 21 in Deux-Montagnes, Laurentians. The Gladiateurs won the preliminary round over the Voyageurs by a score of 6-2. But the Voyageurs took on the Gladiateurs in the final match and won, 2-0.
After their initial defeat, the Voyageurs just went from one win to another, right up to the finals. They defeated the Mirabel Concordes 4 to 3 on December 20, then defeated the Lorraine-Rosemère National 2, 1 to 0, on December 21, which brought them to the final match of the tournament against the Aylmer Gladiateurs.
The Gladiateurs had defeated the Panthères by a score of 4 to 1 and then the Faucons, 2 to 1, before heading for the finals on December 21 against their last opponent, the Aylmer Voyageurs, at the Aréna Olympia.
In that final match, the Voyageurs ultimately prevailed, 2 to 0. Vincent Bolduc, assisted by Yanik Corneau, scored the first goal at 5:32 minutes. No goals were scored in the second period. At 2:47 minutes into the third period, the Voyageurs’ Nicolas Banchini-Fortin, assisted again by Yanik Corneau, scored the second goal. The Voyageurs’ goalie Miguel Bédard marked his second shutout of the tournament.
