Texting and phoning while driving: $3,000 fine
According to legal officials, the use of cell phones and texting while driving will surpass driving under the influence. I believe this issue could be resolved in a very short timeline. I have discussed this with police officials and there has been totally unanimity with this very serious issue.
First offence (should) bring a fine of three thousand dollars and a loss of one’s driver's license for three months. Once this law and punishment are on the books, the problem would be eliminated immediately.
The present fine for this infraction is one hundred and twenty nine dollars and four demerit points -- a joke.
