5th place in Quebec Championships
A passion for tennis at just nine years old: Neda Rahimkhani
Neda Rahimkhani, a 9-year-old girl living in Aylmer who is passionate about tennis, recently came in 5th place in the "Championnat du Quebec 10 ans et moins" in Repentigny, August 11-16.
Neda started playing at the Wychwood Tennis Club. “She was inspired by her brother Omid who is now a coach at the club and by the other amazing coaches and the fun environment of the Wychwood Club,” her mother Mory Afshar told the Bulletin. “She continues to be a member there and is part of the club's ligue échelle.”
She joined Tennis Outaouais Performance (TOP) about three years ago and continues to receive her training there as part of the competitive group. In 2015-16, she was selected to be part of Tennis Canada's Petit A's program. In 2016-17, she was one of the seven girls in the province selected to be part of the Équipe du Quebec 10 ans et moins. Her success continues with her most recent achievement this month in Repentigny.
Neda also loves soccer. She was part of the elite team last year and represented the Outaouais region at the provincial technical skills competition in Montreal (having come in first place in the girls U10 category in Outaouais), and this year she played with the 1st Division U10.
