7.3 million dollars for Outaouais economic development
The Community Futures Development Corporations (SADCs) of Pontiac, Papineau and the Vallée-de-la-Gatineau have agreed to a new five-year deal which will see them receive $7,339,723 of federal government funding.
These new funds will help the SADCs to better address the economic development challenges faced by municipalities that have been deemed most in need of assistance.
SADC Pontiac will receive a contribution of $2,328,666, while SADC of Papineau is granted $2,678,666 and SADC Vallée-de-la-Gatineau will receive $2,332,391.
The SADC network includes 57 SADC and 10 CAE (Community Business Development Corporations) and has been working in community economic development for over 35 years. Made up of over 1,400 professionals and volunteers it supports and provides funding to more than 10,000 entrepreneurs and local economic development projects every year across Quebec.
Agreements between the Government of Canada and the SADCs and CAEs across Quebec represent a total investment of 169 million dollars over five years, with $25M in new funding to support the economic development of all rural communities.
