A Just Transition for all 

 

We are in a climate emergency yet most of our politicians and business leaders are acting as though this is some far off possibility.  We require an about-face to avert catastrophic runaway climate change.  To do this fairly, we need a Just Transition which includes an immediate halt on all fossil fuel expansion projects. 

There is so much amazing potential in a just transition. By investing in a green economy, training oil and gas workers for sustainable and clean jobs, we can ensure that workers affected by that transition are not left behind.  

To be just, frontline and Indigenous communities need actual decision-making power over their transitions.  It’s about making a choice to build resilience, the only way our kids, grandkids, environment, and planet can survive.  

I’ve asked my MP to take this opportunity to be on the right side of history. We must build a better, climate-safe future for all. The alternative is very bleak indeed.  

A Just Transition is the only fair, democratic and ultimately effective way forward.
