Air traffic over Aylmer is back to normal levels this week

The Aylmer Bulletin spoke with a communication representative from Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport (YOW), who said that the construction on East-West runway 07/25 was completed a week earlier than anticipated. YOW previously announced that between September 27 and the end of October, the runway would be closed for construction to replace sections of storm water sewer pipes and catch basins along the edges of the runway.
With the construction complete, all commercial flights that were previously flying over Aylmer have now returned to the 07/25 runaway and their regular flight paths.
Many Aylmer residents have taken notice of the planes flying over Aylmer the past couple of weeks on social media. During the closure and construction, all commercial aircrafts used North-South runway 14/32 and had altered flight paths. This caused more air traffic and noise for those north and south of the city of Ottawa.
