Aylmer honours veterans at Remembrance Day Ceremony
Sophie Demers
Hundreds of residents gathered at the Aylmer Cenotaph in Commemorative Park to honour veterans during this year’s Remembrance Day ceremony. The ceremony serves to recognize and honour those who have served and continue to serve Canada in war and conflict.
Many local veterans and the Aylmer legion participated in the ceremony. Local politicians accompanied veterans during the ceremony, namely, France Bélisle (Gatineau Mayor), Steven Boivin (Aylmer Councillor), Gilles Chagnon (Lucerne Councillor), Greg Fergus (Liberal MP for Hull-Aylmer), and André Fortin (Deputy for Pontiac).
Participants were also invited for a lunch at the Legion following the ceremony.
