-----  Aylmer’s reputation?

 

I could not believe the recent letter by A. Scott ("Back to basics", April 28, 2021) when he says that Aylmer has not got a good reputation because of crime, domestic violence and illegal drug use.  Maybe he meant Ottawa, Toronto or Montreal -- or any number of cities in this country -- but Aylmer,really, he has to be kidding. 

Obviously we are not immune to petty crime, drug use, etc., but this was a real exaggeration to say we have a "bad reputation".  I suggest he watch the Ottawa or Toronto news stations; then he will learn about crime. 

Quebec has a much lower crime rate then any province west of here including Ontario.
