LETTER
----- Dear citizens ...
It is with great emotion that I end my term as Aylmer city councillor. I want to thank all the volunteers who helped me in my electoral campaign in 2016 and 2017. But also, all the citizens who believed in me throughout my mandate.
The community of Aylmer is simply amazing. Strong in community organizations, mobilized residents associations and engaged citizens. Everyone's commitment is simply remarkable.
Never stop being mobilized, asking for better of your elected officials, but above all supporting them in their work to represent you. Bring your civic expertise to your elected officials so that the files are a collective work to improve our city.
I have defended so many issues and so many citizens with rigour and with deep convictions over the past 4 years. Whenever a file was difficult I was sure of your support and that kept me going.
I have defended tough cases through thick and thin and now I need a break. I just would never have agreed to slow down or do my job otherwise. I hope to come back after this break to help you, and, until then, I hope that our city will evolve with more sustainable development and put the citizen at the heart of its reflections.
Thank you to everyone who sent me touching messages over the past few months.
The work of an elected municipal official is a vocation. It has been an honour for me to represent you. See you next time, I hope.
Audrey Bureau
