On November 13, Deschênes Park Alliance (APD) organized their last outing of the year with guides Tony Beck and Nina Stavlund, two ornithological experts from the region. The ornithological outing focused on identifying local bird species. The event welcomed 15 participants who gathered near the Deschênes Rapids, which is also the site of a significant bird conservation zone.
The participants were able to identify 28 species near Conroy Island and along the trail. The common Goldeneye was the most numerous species observed; 80 individual birds were spotted arriving from farther north to spend the winter.
