Former Soccer Club DG resigns

According to President Julie Morrissette, Bruno Drollon, former Director General (DG) of the Aylmer Soccer Club, is leaving the organization after a summer of ups and downs.

He leaves his position as technical director. Mr Drollon had been expected to take on that position on November 24, the date when he was to return to the organization after an investigation on his behavior with the club. This news comes as a surprise, since the Soccer Club was preparing for his return. The Club has not offered reasons for Drollon’s resignation and declined further comment. A three-sentence memo was sent to the members.

Mr Drollon had been suspended as DG following an internal investigation of allegations of exhibitionism, harassment and racism towards former work colleagues. Three technicians had resigned, with the alleged victims arguing that the former DG had “created a culture of intimidation within the club.” The investigation did not result in formal accusations.

Last August, the board of directors announced that “the investigation indicated that the security and wellbeing of the Club’s players were not compromised by any kind of behaviour.”

Bruno Drollon had been appointed DG in 2012.

For the time being, Jean-Michel Mattesco will continue as Acting DG, overseeing technical matters for the club until a permanent technical director is found.

The popular Aylmer Soccer Club has over 1,500 members of all ages developing their skills at the club.  (Transl: CB)
