A spokesperson Renée-Anne St-Amant for the Gatineau Police service confirms the accident that occurred at the newly built intersection on Lucerne Boulevard on January 12, was caused by a car colliding with a traffic light. As a result, four other cars were involved and the traffic light fell to the ground at approximately 6:15 p.m.
St-Amant says there were no serious injuries and the scene was cleaned up within the hour.
When asked whether low visibility at the intersection was to blame for the collision, St-Amant said that information will not be disclosed as the case is ongoing.
The intersection was not operational at the time of the accident, which was only recently built for the new Havre Lucerne development by Brigil Construction. Brigil is expected to start construction of the luxury condominiums in the summer of 2021.
