Juniper Farm offers visitors a slice of country life

 

Located 5 km from the town of Wakefield, Juniper Farm offers guests an opportunity to connect with nature and enjoy the farm setting. Owners are excited to share the love and gratitude they feel for the land. They are confident that visitors will appreciate the natural beauty that abounds there.

Juniper Farm has expanded their offerings to include guided tours one Sunday a month beginning on June 11. On weekends as of June 16, visitors will have the option of self-guided tours with a hand drawn map to guide them along as they visit the turkeys, chickens and the little pig forest. A large raspberry patch, herb patches, extensive fields and greenhouses all showcase the farm’s produce and natural beauty.

The farm store is a 100-year-old farmhouse where people are invited to relax at picnic tables and enjoy the scenery.  Store offerings include organic vegetables, small-batch ferments, sauerkraut, meat and eggs from Juniper and surrounding farms including McMillan, Cedar Creek, Peabody and more. The store also offers oils, honey, teas, granola bars, books and more, all from local producers.

New this year, Juniper Farm has teamed up with ARTiculture to offer a bilingual outdoor theatre and puppetry day camp for children ages 6-12 from July 24-28. The camp is inspired by farm life and the beauty of Juniper Farm’s natural surroundings. The camp is presented by Karen Jones, former Waldorf teacher from Ottawa.
