------   Lucy-Faris re-build for $10 million

 

              The Lucy-Faris library re-build -- all in, plus necessary retrofit for Place de Pioneers -- has a $10,000,000 solution.  

              A 6,000 square-foot new addition can be accomplished for under $3,000,000. (Two levels, where the current reading room exists.)

A retrofit of the existing first floor for use as library exclusively: $1,500,000; garage repairs: $900,000; structural repairs: $2,000,000; plus past due maintenance and repairs: $2,500,000. So, for $10,000,000 no displacement costs, no local-area negative impact, and there is no need at all to replace the 33 year old Place de Pioneers.
