---- Municipal issues: terrible roads and streets
With new city elections coming in early November, this year's climate disasters on the West Coast and elsewhere have put climate change on every political agenda. Tonnes of promises are needed because the problem is so severe and so close to us. At the same time, we have to move from one day to the next, and that requires a lot of attention to the smaller things in life, like streets and roads, buses and congestion.. Gatineau's pavement is an embarrassment. Streets from quiet neighbourhoods to the big exchanges are all in terrible condition. Avenues which are the responsibility of the province seem to require a yearly battle for improvements and upgrades. The worst example of non-planning is what we have now. Broken pavement, broken vehicles, broken vehicles guaranteed. What can be done with candidates just refuse to even mention the problem?
