News from Jeunesse Idem
Sonia Roy
Jeunesse Idem, a community-based organization in the Outaouais region, whose mandate is to "improve the quality of life of young people aged 7 to 35 from the LGBTQIA2+ community and to raise awareness in the region about the realities of sexual orientation and gender identity diversity", is constantly adding to its calendar of events for summer 2022. Here are a few events you won't want to miss!
Drop-in Wednesdays
An innovative concept led by Jeunesse Idem's counselors, this activity is offered every Wednesday (between 3pm and 5pm) to LGBTQIA2+ youth aged 7 to 35. It is an opportunity to spend an afternoon talking with other members of the community, consulting with the facilitators on a drop-in basis or simply playing board games, participating in crafts and much more, in a safe and fun atmosphere. Everyone is welcome! (Please note that a parent or guardian will be required to sign a consent form for children aged 7 to 13). Drop-in Wednesdays will be held throughout the summer at 109 Wright Street (door at 41 Leduc Street).
Support Group
This group, open to youth aged 14 to 25, is for people who are LGBTQIA2+ or questioning their sexual orientation or gender identity. Registration for this group, which meets every Monday from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., is required with a counselor. Please note that every other Monday, the meeting will be held on the Zoom virtual platform. The following Monday, the support group will meet at the Jeunesse Idem offices located at 109 Wright Street (door at 41 Leduc Street).
