Oldtimers 50+ hockey tournament

The Sleeman’s Hockey League of Aylmer, Quebec hosted its third annual men’s 50+ recreational hockey tournament on May 5 & 6, at the Frank Robinson Arena. The tournament comprised four teams and all participants are former members of the old Aylmer 30Plus Hockey League. The tournament was organized and staffed entirely by volunteers. In 2018, the tournament generated more than 150 pounds of food and yielded $1,600.00 in profits, all of which were proudly donated to the local Aylmer Food Bank.  In three years, this small tournament has donated over $6,500.00 and over 500 pounds of food.  The Sleeman’s Hockey League asked for assistance from the local business community in the form of food, beverage, or prize donations which helped in supporting this year’s success.
