Pedestrian crosswalk installation underway on Principale near Marché Laflamme
Sophie Demers
A pedestrian crosswalk is being installed on Principale near Bistro Mexicana and Marché Laflamme. There was no crosswalk between Frank-Robinson Street and Eardley Road, where there are bus stops on both sides of the street and several shops, so this is welcome news for residents of Aylmer. It will certainly facilitate circulation for pedestrians in this high-traffic area.
The crosswalk was suggested to the city by the Village d'Aylmer Residents Association, and supported by council. It is being installed near Neil-O'Donnell Street. The construction will lead to road closures on Principale Street and the need for traffic controllers. It will also affect STO bus routes.
