Police respond to assault on rue Broad

The Service de police de la Ville de Gatineau (SPVG) responded to a call at about 3 pm, November 3, following an assault involving several individuals on rue Broad, near the intersection of rue Mary and close to École Secondaire Grande-Rivière. On the scene, the police found a 19-year-old man who had sustained injuries. The young man, who was conscious, was transported to the hospital. His condition was considered stable. According to the SPVG, the victim does not attend the high school.

The police immediately installed a security perimeter. Broad was closed between rue Bagot and Anna, which included part of the high school’s property. The investigation is ongoing to establish the cause and circumstances of the incident. The information collected so far indicates that it was an isolated incident.
