----Studio de Danse Danielle now offering two summer camps for kids

Desiring to make the most of what this summer has to offer, Studio de Danse Danielle is preparing to host two camps for kids with a multitude of activities for all to enjoy. Launching the first edition of its Wild About Art Camp, the studio is hoping to offer campers a place to freely express themselves in a wide variety of artistic and creative mediums.

With activities largely taking place outside - when the weather is nice enough - the camp plans to see campers work on three unique projects per day, including clay and wax sculptures, recycled art installations, and watercolour paintings, among other things. Activities will be led by certified art instructors.

Hosted at the studio’s location at 1920 chemin Pink in the Plateau, the weekly camp goes from 8 am to 4:30 pm - including before and after care - and will take place for seven weeks. According to the studio’s manager Tanya Kelley, the studio will be installing tents with proper air circulation to allow activities to mainly be held outside and keep everyone safe and comfortable. “We have lots of trees and we’ve taken care of the backyard,” Kelley said. “We’ve created an amazing art camp. We want the kids to have a creative space where they can do art all day and create outside in the trees. We’re putting up hammocks and gardens and everything.”

As for the studio’s recreational dance camp – which will last eight weeks with the same operating hours as the art camp – it will provide four dance classes per day, along with a diversity of singing, crafts, and games, as well as an end-of-week show for parents.  Featuring a different theme every week, such as the jungle, the Olympic Games, and the 80s, the camp is all about helping kids build their confidence and improve their creativity and coordination while socializing with friends.

Both camps are available for kids aged between 5 and 12, and will take place during week days in July and August.  Kelly said the studio will be hosting senior and junior competitive dance camps in August at their location on rue Bordeau in Aylmer.
