LETTER
-------The library is for everyone
To answer Mr Mike Beard's concern about the Aylmer Public Library not being accessible to English-speaking patrons, I can confirm that the catalogue and its search engine are also in English, making it easy for you to reserve any books you want. A quick search in their database will also allow you to discover that 37% of their books are in English, the same percentage of English speaking citizens in Aylmer. Not bad, isn’t it? This equal proportion would make many French-speakers in the rest of Canada envy you.
By the way, no, Quebec is not a bilingual province, nor is any of the other provinces except New Brunswick. May be P.E.Trudeau had a dream, but it never became a reality.
