LETTER
----- Today's realities are not named 96 and 21!
I hope you can squeeze this letter in, but after the final weekend before the vote I feel I have to say something, and it is not to the candidates or their parties. It is to all of us, we the voters of the Outaouais. I see and hear little except that once again we are back in the era of language debates with Quebec's recent legislation, or proposals for legislation. We, by which I mean Anglophones, are again in an uproar about "language rights". Meanwhile the federal Liberals/SNC Lavalin intend to build a massive radioactive dump just off the Ottawa River upstream from all of us -- and the entire St Lawrence valley! There's climate change breathing down our necks, and how prepared are we when the climate catastrophes we see elsewhere (the fires!) arrive here? No, we want to be sure we can keep speaking English in every single situation. That'll save us!
Why are we listening to these so-called "voices of the Anglophone community"? They are not speaking to me about the world around me!
