Traiteurs EFSR : North Aylmer’s new dining option
Julie Murray
Aylmerites looking for a light summertime meal on an outdoor terrace have a new option: Traiteurs EFSR, located at the Vieux Moulin Golf Club. The new restaurant and catering operation is run by Welly Lalonde and Linda Clément, who both have extensive experience in the restaurant industry. The pair worked at the Tecumseh golf club’s restaurant for six years and had co-owned it for one year when Pierre Charrette, the Vieux Moulin golf club’s new owner, asked them to bring their talents to Aylmer.
Tecumseh’s hectic schedule had them working up to sixteen hours a day, seven days a week, to prepare and serve their delicious food at weekend brunches, baby showers, receptions and banquets, and a busy slate of weekly golf tournaments. “We feel a little more in control of our life here in Aylmer. We can breathe easier,” laughs Linda, though Welly predicts that situation will soon change. “We haven’t done any advertising, we’re not in the phone book, we don’t have a face book page … but people find out about us. It’s all world-of-mouth and yet people know us.”
Both appreciate the restaurant’s peaceful North Aylmer location. “The terrace is perfect. The view is beautiful, and we often see deer!” Welly says, adding, “To get from the ninth hole to the tenth, you have to walk through our terrace, and people will often pick up some sandwiches and buckets of beer or soda pop to take with them on the rest of the course.” Both point out that the restaurant is open to the public, not just golfers. Along with on-site restaurant service, the pair will cater events
such as weddings and funerals, banquets and receptions. They are also planning Friday night suppers of fried fish, spaghetti or barbecue.
Diners will enjoy the newly-renovated and decorated restaurant and all it has to offer. “We’ve got the best food in Aylmer, a bar with a wide-screen t.v., and it’s all served in a relaxing countryside terrace,” says Welly. The new restaurant is a great place to stop by to unwind after work, he suggests. “Come and see our deer!”
Traiteurs EFSR opens at 7 am and stays open all day and evening, until the last guest is satisfied. Located at 511 Chemin Antoine-Boucher, the restaurant’s official opening is May 16 and 17. Stop by for refreshments, a chance to win door prizes, and maybe even a round of golf at one of the region’s most affordable courses. For more information, call 819-329-4114.
