--- Water rescue training ongoing as river crowds-up
The Fire Rescue team deployed from the Aylmer Marina on a training exercise in which they learn how the river works, and how to recognize hazards and mitigate them, May 18.
This was a team/group #4 from station 1 on Wilfrid-Lavigne
The team will also learn safety techniques for how to operate around and in the river as well self-rescue technique (if someone falls in), companion rescue (if a partner falls in), and or people needing help or a rescue effort.
In many rescue cases large response is necessary by emergency responders from Ottawa Fire, Gatineau Fire, will include search boats, and perhaps divers, in some circumstances.
