----  "Why socialism?" means public housing!

 

I loved the Bulletin's recent editorial ("socialism"); the world is now seeing extreme polarities for learning and sharing, and awakening to truth and knowledge is powerful-- but only if used!  Thanks for inspiring conversations from the grassroots. The issue here is very real for parents and children as more condos replace forests and places to rent. Our Social and Spiritual Consciousness is key as we ask who truly makes the decisions regarding policies that affect the poorest in our midst?

The RCMP is failing at being transparent, but light is coming through the cracks. There is hope!

Transparency is crucial: what happening to policing on all levels of society, and who is accountable for what is happening to still-invisible children? Which policies are still in place?  Who oversees the R.C.M.P.?  Do the Quebec or Ontario Governments oversee their provincial police? This question could be good for small newspapers like the Aylmer Bulletin -- to lead the public to become aware.  There are issues of transparency at all levels: try asking for documented evidence why a Metis father raising a First Nations son  feels threatened by lack of a safe home to rent?

This leads to a key question for our democracy and the recent conversation here: Why not Socialism?  What happens to one family or one child (and happening to many  Blacks, Indigenous and minority groups) who up to now have been invisible and treated accordingly as the lowest in our society’s elitist ladder?  There are simply no places to rent in these times of COVID 19 and we need new policy decisions which hold all of us accountable. Accountable for what? For learning about key issues and  how to work together to bring transparency to all issues affecting children -- getting to the root of and the essence of many social problems based on our huge disparity between the very rich and the very poor.
