$5.2M investment powers expansion for four Outaouais businesses

Investissement Québec has announced nearly $5.2 million in funding for four small and medium-sized businesses based in the Outaouais. The financial support was confirmed during a visit by the agency’s president and CEO, Bicha Ngo, and is aimed at helping these businesses grow, modernize their operations and secure their futures.
The businesses receiving support are Cuisi-n-Art, Vitrerie de la Vallée, Moulin Wakefield and La Trappe à Fromage. Each operates in different industries including manufacturing, construction, tourism and food, but all have plans to invest in their long-term success.
Cuisi-n-Art, a cabinet and custom furniture maker, is receiving just over $1.27 million. The money will help build a new plant and upgrade equipment with more advanced tools, allowing the business to increase its output and efficiency.
Vitrerie de la Vallée, a glass installation and repair company run by a local family, will use a $312,750 loan to buy a new CNC machine which will let the team take on more work and complete projects faster.
Moulin Wakefield, a well-known inn housed in a historic mill near Gatineau Park, is getting $1 million to help with a change in ownership. The funding ensures the business can stay open and continue operating without interruption.
La Trappe à Fromage, a local cheese producer, has been granted over $2.6 million to automate more of its production. The upgrades will improve productivity and allow the company to make more cheese to meet growing demand.
The funding comes from Investissement Québec’s Grand V initiative, which offers flexible loans and expert guidance to help businesses invest in new technologies and increase their competitiveness. The agency has set a target of $4.5 billion in support by 2027.
“These projects show how Investissement Québec can help businesses take the next step,” said Bicha Ngo. “When a company grows, it creates jobs, adds value and lifts up others around it. That’s how we move Quebec forward.”
