LETTER
---- A Good Samaritan on Allumettières
On August 20th I was driving down des Allumettieres when I experienced a flat tire. I had to reduce my speed before I could pull over and by that time there was a loud knocking, the car and steering wheel were shaking violently. I managed to pull over and before I got out of the car, a car stopped in front of me. A man jumped out with gloves on and said he saw everything and he "would put on the spare for me”. It took about 20 minutes and I was good to go. The tire was shredded on one side and was very hot.
He had his son with him and told him to watch what he was doing since it was a good deed. I tried to pay him but he refused, because, he said, “it is in their culture to do good deeds.”
I want to thank him publicly for helping me. I was very lucky and grateful that this man stopped on his own and did a good deed. What a wonderful culture! I hope he sees this letter.
