A partnership to promote track and field in the Gatineau area

The Club d’athlétisme de Gatineau and Excellence sportive Outaouais are joining forces to expand introductory track and field programs in the Gatineau area.
This new partnership will enable the launch of two introductory groups for children ages 5 to 8 and 9 to 11. Training sessions will be held indoors at the Centre Excellence sportive Outaouais from October 24 to December 19, 2026.
The registration fee is $160 for the session. Children will be able to discover track and field and develop their athletic skills in an age-appropriate environment, without having to travel to the area usually served by the club in Hull.
The launch of these groups marks a new step in the development of the Club d’athlétisme de Gatineau, which aims to expand its introductory programs to other areas of the city.
The project also receives support from the Athlétisme Québec regional development fund. This funding enabled the club to create, this past spring, a position for a coordinator dedicated to the introductory program.
Through this partnership, the Club d’athlétisme de Gatineau and Excellence sportive Outaouais are expanding access to track and field for young people in the region.
