An extraordinary bath!

On June 7, six participants gathered in the Deschênes Forest for a guided Forest Bathing experience (Shinrin-Yoku), offered by the Alliance Parc Deschênes for the second year in a row and led by Pam Stellick, a psychotherapist with a deep appreciation for nature. Forest Bathing focuses on well-being, mindfulness, and cultivating a deeper relationship with the natural world.

Through a series of guided invitations, participants moved slowly through the forest, pausing for breathing exercises, reflection, and quiet observation.  All along this walk, from the riverbank of the Ottawa River to the heart of the oak grove, they were encouraged to notice the sights, sounds, textures, and rhythms of nature, creating space for calm, presence, and personal renewal.

The experience concluded with a group reflection, mint tea, and a reading of Wild Geese, a poem by Mary Oliver.  Everyone agreed on the importance of this 90-minute wellness break to reconnect with oneself and with nature in the beautiful setting of the Deschênes Forest. There was a shared desire to see this activity offered again, possibly every season! Keep up our news for the next opportunity!
