Another big cleanup effort!
A wonderful team of about twenty volunteers took part in an autumn cleanup of Deschênes Forest, organized twice a year by the Deschênes Park Alliance. Everyone, including 5 young students, really contributed once again to helping the forest breathe better and restore a more natural look to the banks of the Ottawa River.
Two continuous hours of work led to the collection of 15 large bags of trash, including many metal cans, glass and plastic containers, and several bags of dog waste. We also collected metal, pipes, broken chairs, and a lot of construction materials.
A call to everyone: on your next hike in the future Deschênes Park, please take your trash home with you. It’s a small, easy gesture for each of us but so important to ensure the conservation of this beautiful urban forest and its surroundings. A big thanks to volunteers!
