APD Heritage Hikes in June 2026
Alliance Parc Deschênes
Spring is an ideal time to discover the heritage treasures of the future Deschênes Park. Young birds can be seen on Conroy Island and in the Brant Duck Marsh, and the leaves in their early summer greenery are a brilliant shade of green. During guided hikes organized by the APD on Saturdays, June 13 and 27, we will be amazed by nature's treasures (young waterbirds, remarkable trees) and by the fascinating history of the area (archaeological discoveries at the portage, old industrial facilities at the Deschênes Rapids). Offered in collaboration with the City of Gatineau, these hikes are part of a whole series of summer activities organized by the APD. We will meet at the parking lot at Claudette-Burke Crescent (corner of Vanier Road) at 10:30 a.m. on both mornings, and the hike will last about 1.5 hours.
