Auberge Tom B&B, a little gem in the Gatineau Hills
In the Municipality of Chelsea, in a delightful and enchanting setting, lies a little gem called Auberge Tom B&B, a high-end bed and breakfast which caters exclusively for adults. Barbara Séguin, the owner, has hospitality in her blood and the will to provide a peaceful and rejuvenating oasis for her guests to enjoy.
Our guests are not confined to their bedroom and can take advantage of beautiful indoor and outdoor relaxation areas. “We want our guests to feel comfortable to use the space provided rather than feel they are invading someone else’s home. My husband and I don’t use any of the relaxation areas when we have guests”, says the owner.
Since its first guests on May 3rd, 2018, the B&B has been serving three-course gourmet breakfasts that have quickly bonified the establishment’s reputation.
As of last July, the B&B added additional catering services, such as continental breakfast in a basket delivered to the bedroom, picnics for outdoor adventures and gourmet meals. Prepared by the cooks at Chelsea restaurant Les Fougères, Séguin assures that the menu’s dishes are nothing to scoff at.
Surrounded by a picturesque landscape, the B&B is ideally located on the Gatineau River and next to the Chelsea Community Trail – a 22 km path for walking, (fat)biking, and cross-country skiing, and is also at reasonable driving distance to anywhere in the National Capital region.
“The Gatineau Park is practically in our backyard. We’re really close to Camp Fortune and cross-country skiing trails. For that, we’re really well situated. We have the fortune of having all the benefits of country life while still being close to the city.”
The B&B has been going above and beyond the provincial government’s recommended COVID-19 safety measures since reopening in July, along with taking the decision to reduce our offering from four rooms to two in an effort to limit indoor circulation, Séguin said.
“We’re very well organized and take safety measures very seriously,” Séguin said. “We have a strong and efficient air circulation and purification system in place. Guests shouldn’t have a worry in the world regarding virus contamination during their stay.”
With everything they offer, this B&B is the ideal place for a either a relaxing retreat, a romantic staycation or a productive workation.
Emphasizing the importance of supporting local businesses during the pandemic, Séguin encourages people to purchase gift certificates from Auberge Tom B&B.
Wanting to provide a group of people with an opportunity to spend their New Years’ celebrations in luxury despite the pandemic, Auberge Tom B&B in Chelsea is offering an exclusive New Year’s Eve Celebration package.
Formerly located on rue Lacasse in Aylmer, Séguin said she wanted to open her B&B in her neighborhood, but moved to Chelsea in 2018. Learn more about Auberge Tom B&B at www.aubergetom.com.
