It wasn’t the results she sought, but Aylmer skip Lauren Mann, playing out of Montréal, still managed to win a few games in her debut at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts held in Moose Jaw’s Mosaic Place this past February.
Representing the province of Québec at the Canadian women’s curling championship, Team Mann finished the tournament on a positive note defeating Nova Scotia 8-7 and Newfoundland & Labrador 7-5 in the last two games. Unfortunately for Mann, her squad got on the winning track too late having conceded eight of the nine initial games during the National tournament.
Team Mann, which also includes Amélie Blais, Brittany O’Rourke and Anne-Marie Filteau, lost their first game to Team Canada 6-4, but managed to bounce back in the second game defeating British Columbia’s Patti Knezevic 8-1. The winning streak was short lived for the recently formed team losing the seven following games before winning the last two.
