Birding tour of Pontiac municipality
June 2: Explorations in the Municipality of Pontiac, an invitation of the Club des ornithologues de l’Outaouais (COO). Rendez-vous: 4:30 pm at Pontiac’s Town Hall parking area (Luskville), Highway 148 at Chemin Hôtel-de-Ville.
We’ll pass through beautiful scenery at the foot of Eardley Escarpment to look at birds of fields and fallow lands, as well as raptors taking advantage of late afternoon thermals (updraft air). Our route: from chemin Eardley-Masham to chemin du Lac des Loups, via the Steele Line, with the ultimate aim of seeing or hearing Whip-poor-wills at dusk. Bring a snack, a drink, a flashlight, wear suitable clothes and be appropriately equipped (think about biting insects and dusk). We speak English. Scheduled to end at about 20h30-21h00.
