Boucher Forest Park Still Holds Hidden Treasures of Biodiversity

Each year, the BioBlitz organized by the Boucher Forest Foundation helps uncover a little more of the remarkable biodiversity found in Boucher Forest Park. On June 20, naturalists, nature enthusiasts, and families gathered to observe and identify the many species that inhabit this exceptional natural area.

Throughout the day, more than 120 species were recorded. Among them, 19 species had never before been documented in the park, including several insects, fungi, and plants. Every new observation helps expand our knowledge of the park's biodiversity and supports ongoing conservation efforts.

A BioBlitz is much more than a scientific inventory. It is an opportunity for people of all ages to experience nature in a new way. Participants enjoyed guided walks and met specialists in a variety of fields, including birds, fungi, insects, geology, microbiology, and more. Interactive booths also gave families the chance to explore biodiversity through engaging, hands-on activities.
