City preparing Constance-Provost building for spring opening
Sophie Demers
The construction is complete! After years of watching the new Constance-Provost building being constructed, residents can now see shelves and books being added to the interior in preparation for an official opening in the spring. The building will be a community hub for residents and the new home of the Lucy-Faris Library and Aylmer service centre.
With a portion of the sidewalk now open after being closed off during construction, passersby can spot the large main staircase in the middle of the first floor. Once equipment and furniture are set up, the library and service centre will move in, leaving their temporary location in Galleries Aylmer. The empty space in the mall has been promised to Unigym, a local non-profit sports club with a focus on gymnastics.
