City of Gatineau hosted a cheerful and joyful event at Parc du Renard, September 5.
The event was a celebration of the weekend, featuring music, games (including basketball and soccer), and all-around festivities. A large crowd attended, with many enjoying the music, dancing, and savouring the fruit salads provided at no cost by one of their partners, Regroupement des cuisines collectives de Gatineau (RCCG).
RCCG is an organization that collects ingredients before grocery stores discard them, preventing food waste and then distributes food to the community of OutaouaisThe same ingredients were used for the fruit salads.
Along with the fruit salads, there was free lemonade supplied by another partner, Tim Hortons. Other treats were also given out freely, including small bags of chips and lollipops.
The celebration began at around 6 pm, but people started arriving at the park around 5. It ended at around 7:30, when people slowly started to leave after having a great time.
