Considering the Art Camp by the Aylmer Marina this summer?
Summer by the water under the care and instruction of professional artists is on offer at the Atelier Saulan Art Camp. Registration is open now, with limited space, so call today.
Brief History of Atelier Saulan
About ten years ago, Nicole Geoffroy initiated an art summer camp by the Aylmer Marina, in the studio of Center d’exposition L’Imagier on 9 Rue Front. Ms Geoffroy has a Masters in Art. She has a passion for teaching, designing programs for Fine Arts schools; she values quality rather than quantity. A few years later, sharing those same goals, Sau Lan Mo joined her. Since then, their students have returned and returned again; some even became their assistants.
And now the school has turned to a non-profit organization offering not only summer camps. Art classes for adults such as Chinese painting, photography, live figure drawing and weekend workshops are open to anyone. Most of the teachers are local and bilingual and some have been working with the school for many years.
Ms Mo is a very active person in the community. She has volunteered for many groups and has organized art shows for young artists, partnerships with local schools and businesses in the community. MP Nycole Turmel has attended her events, such as the Young Van Gogh project in 2013.
Ms Mo is the Artist Director of the Atelier Saulan. She believes in establishing good learning habits from the start. Perfection comes from practice. “We create best when we are in a peaceful mind !… Life can be artful in many forms,” she said about learning. This philosophy is an integral part of the summer camp again this year.
