COVID-19: Companies lend a hand in vaccination efforts

With the booster shot appointments opening up for more people, the Minister of Health and Social Services Christian Dubé, and the Minister of the Economy and Innovation Pierre Fitzgibbon, highlighted the commitment of Quebec companies that will support the actions of the health and social services network in order to increase vaccination capacity and offer the booster dose.
The initiative that started in 2021 has seen the participation of companies in mass vaccination efforts. The same will be done for this year in order to deliver the booster dose to the population more quickly and provide better protection against the Omicron variant.
"We can be proud of the response we received from Quebec companies during last year's vaccination campaign,” said Minister Fitzgibbon. “I would like to thank those who have already raised their hands to participate in this new vaccination campaign and I invite all those who can to join the movement in order to administer the booster dose and protect the population as quickly as possible against the new variants, such as Omicron."
Each participating company will offer vaccination to its employees and their entourage. With this initiative over 75,000 doses are anticipated to be administered at these locations over the next few weeks. Most of the 28 participating companies will offer the vaccine starting the week of January 17. There is still time to register for companies interested in participating in this initiative if they meet the criteria that can be consulted on the Quebec.ca website. "I am very pleased to see once again the solidarity and enthusiasm of our Quebec companies who will contribute to the collective effort by vaccinating their employees and their entourage over the coming weeks. Thank you to all the dedicated teams from participating companies who will give their time and energy to offer the booster dose as quickly as possible," reiterated Minister Dubé.
Note that participating companies will be responsible for all vaccination activities, but will be provided with materials needed. One of the criteria is to commit to vaccinating a minimum of 100 people, and only the Moderna vaccine will be offered.
