Fire on rue Pearson evacuates 80 people

On February 15, at 1:57 am, the Service de sécurité incendie de Gatineau (SSIG) responded a call about a fire, taking place in an apartment complex located at 80 rue Pearson. According to a press release issued by the SSIG on the same date, 21 firefighters arrived at the scene with six fire trucks before noticing light smoke coming from apartment 109.  

Evacuating 80 people from the building, three were displaced, and fire fighters got the situation under control by 3 am. Noting that damages were limited in the apartment where the fire took place, the incident caused around $6,000 worth of damage. The SSIG will investigate the matter.
