Gladiateurs d’Aylmer face Lakeshore Lions in an all Roman finals

It was a thrilling victory for the Gladiateurs d’Aylmer who defeated the Lakeshore Lions 3-2 in double overtime on February 8 to get their hands on the Peewee B Richcraft Sensplex Cougar Cup banner in Gloucester.
Evolving in the Methot division, the Gladiateurs moved out of the round robin after a tie and two wins versus their division rivals. The Aylmer squad continued their journey towards the finals by defeating Almonte Thunder 2-1 and edging the West End Warriors 1-0 in the morning of February 8. With both wins, the Gladiateurs had their ticket to the tournament finals where they would meet the Lakeshore Lions from the GTA.
The Lions got off to a roaring start scoring a quick goal in the first frame. The Gladiateurs evened the score 1-1 four minutes after going down by one. However, the Lions were hungry for more and scored a second goal in the first period giving them the 2-1 advantage as the first period came to an end.
The Gladiateurs came out swinging in the second period as they quickly scored a second goal to tie up the game. Both teams remained deadlocked 2-2 for two more periods even though both teams had chances at power-plays.
The next goal came in dramatic fashion when Maxime Lesage scored in a penalty shot during the second overtime period allowing the Gladiateurs to slay the Lakeshore Lions and win the tournament!
