Deep thanks to all for keeping June 22 free for sharing with others some key learning events.

From May 7 to June 24: Nuclear waste affects over five million Canadians’ drinking water, from this Algonquin Ottawa River, imprisoned since 1909. If water is critical to all life, it is sacred. This Heritage River is one of our five most important rivers.  May 11 was the cut-off date to sign the petition of Elizabeth May (Google e-petition 1450).

May 21, a Monday, is the Eel Walk on the International Day for Biological Diversity. On Monday, a Family Day of Learning and Sacred Living on Victoria Island from 8:30 am, with craft tables, and at 9:30 am, a Sacred Fire Ceremony, 10 am, a walk to Parliament Hill and at 11 am, speeches and a Round Dance for Eel. At 1 pm, a feast on Victoria Island, Kabeshinan Minitig. 

June 22, a Friday, is the “Spirituality is Unity” annual walk,  led by Algonquin Elder Albert Dumont South Wind and Algonquin Grandmother Jane-Ann Chartrand Grey Fawn. Meet on Victoria Island  at 10:30 am, leave at 11 to noon, for a slow walk to Parliament Hill. From noon to 2 pm, an open sharing circle lead by spiritual leaders.
