Knights of Columbus corn roast fundraiser for new Aylmer Community fridge

A corn roast fundraiser hosted by the Knights of Columbus drew a good crowd to the new L’éphémère Guinguette Marina d’Aylmer to raise money for a new Aylmer community.
The fundraiser took place on Sunday, August 23, with people dropping by to taste some corn and enjoy time with friends while supporting the Knights of Columbus. There was no set goal for the amount of money needed, as any donation would help acquire a new community fridge.
The fridge will cost about 3,000 dollars, as it is meant to stay outside all year round to support the locals around who are willing to donate unused perishable items, diverting good food away from compost bins. The fridge is meant to reduce food waste by being open and accessible to anyone at any time.
