Man suffers serious injuries in Plateau district assault

On May 7, a man in the Plateau was taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries in an assault. According to a press release issued by Gatineau Police (SPVG) on the same date, police intervened on boulevard d’Amsterdam, at around 3 pm, after receiving a 9-1-1 call about a physical altercation in the area.

Police arrived on the scene to assist the victim and block off the street with a security perimeter. The area remained closed off until the evening. SPVG spokesperson Andrée East told the Aylmer Bulletin that the victim is now in serious but stable condition. 

She couldn’t provide additional information about the incident. Police are investigating the matter.
