New pharmacy at Aylmer’s Carrefour Santé
A new pharmacy recently opened in the Carrefour Santé Aylmer building at 362 chemin d’Aylmer, between Fraser Road and Cochrane Road. The new building has adapted access with an elevator, access ramps, adapted washrooms and automatically-opening doors, all designed to make life easier for visitors. Once completed, Carrefour Santé Aylmer will be a meeting place for wellness, with the new pharmacy, a medical clinic, a dental clinic, a podiatrist’s office, a medical laboratory, and more, all under the same roof. A GMF medical clinic is already in place on the third floor. At 6,000 square feet, the GMF clinic is home to eleven general practitioners who work in a comfortable, contemporary facility with the latest equipment.
With the opening of the new pharmacy, a group of experienced pharmacists is now available to patients. Dedicated professionals, they work closely with other health-care professionals in the Outaouais to offer unparalleled service. All parents of young children, these pharmacists advocate a health-care approach that focuses on family and community involvement. They made the conscious choice to create a contemporary, intimate and bilingual neighbourhood pharmacy with a wide selection of affordable health products.
“Our pharmacists make it their business to give you personalized, quick service and advice. They’ll do everything they can to make your experience a pleasant one,” said Frederick Ballard, one of the Carrefour Santé Aylmer’s owners. The pharmacy will focus on medicine, not extras such as cosmetics, toys or electronic goods. “They are professionals who are passionate about their work,” added Mr. Ballard.
In addition to its outstanding service, the pharmacy delivers seven days a week over much of West Quebec, including Luskville and the surrounding areas. It rents breast pumps and orthopaedic devices such as crutches, wheelchairs and walkers.
“We have a clinical nurse on site. She has more than ten years of emergency room and pediatric experience. She has a certificate in diabetic education and can provide complete travel health services,” noted Mr. Ballard. The clinic has a Health Canada accreditation for vaccines against yellow fever and immunizations against the flu, shingles, pneumonia and more.
