---- Open Letter to Premier Legault: "Justice for Joyce"
As a Quebecer, I am appalled by the treatment of Joyce Echaquan and the awful death she suffered at the Joliette hospital. This is a tragedy that is a direct result of racism - made worse by the racial slurs she heard in her dying moments from people who should have been caring for her.
I have since learned that the Joliette hospital is known for its racism. If this isn't a demonstration of systemic racism in Quebec, I don't know what is.
Shame on the hospital and the nurses involved. But it is not enough to fire a couple of nurses; the government must address racism everywhere in Quebec. It is up to you to provide Justice for Joyce!
