LETTER
Overdose Awareness Day
As in every year, the community gathered last week to pay tribute to the citizens who have left us as a result of overdoses and to raise awareness on this subject. In the Outaouais, for 2020, the community had to deal with 45 deaths potentially due to overdose.
The ADDICQ-Outaouais organized a BBQ in the parking lot of 85 Morin Street, from 4 to 6 pm. The CIPTO presented a tribute to the deceased at 4:30 pm at the same location.
In these difficult times, if you or your loved ones are using drugs, make sure you don't use alone, decrease your doses and space them out, and stock up on naloxone and fentanyl strips. Your community organizations and outreach workers are there for you: BRAS Outaouais : (819) 776-2727; CIPTO - Harm Reduction Organization: (819) 770-7249; Overdose Prevention Site : (453) 507-1153.
