Parking fees coming to the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre

Gatineau Park Visitor Centre will soon require payment for parking. The National Capital Commission (NCC) will implement new parking fees effective September 1.

This measure aims to better manage traffic in one of the park’s busiest areas and improve the availability of parking spaces. According to the NCC, this measure also aims to promote sustainable transportation and protect Gatineau Park’s natural environment. Revenue from parking fees will be reinvested in activities, programs, and infrastructure.

The first 30 minutes of parking will remain free. After that, visitors will be charged $3 for each additional 30-minute period, up to a maximum of $16 per day. Payment can be made by credit or debit card, as well as with exact change.

However, holders of a seasonal parking permit will be able to park for free at the Visitor Centre until October 31. As with other NCC paid parking lots, vehicles displaying an accessible parking permit will be entitled to four hours of free parking.
